He joined the Hub from International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), where he was a senior research technician and was instrumental in the establishment of the plant biodiversity and genomics laboratory at ILRI.  At IITA, he supported the implementation of various projects such as global cassava and cowpea biodiversity projects among others and assisted in mentoring and training of over 20 postgraduate and visiting scientists from East and Central Africa.

Inosters holds a Masters degree in Biochemistry from the University of Nairobi and brings a wealth of experience to the Hub especially in the application of molecular and biotechnology tools to enhance crop production to boost food security in Sub-Saharan Africa where drought, poor soils, diseases, poverty and climate change pose a great challenge to agricultural development.
