A research and development partnership between Africa and AustraliaWith funding from AusAID, the Africa Food Security Initiative in East and Central Africa is a four year research partnership between Africa and Australia focused on:
These research and capacity building priorities are aligned with regional priorities defined in part by the Africa Union’s New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD), The Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) and the Association for Strengthening Agricultural Research in Eastern and Central Africa (ASARECA). The partnership is between the Biosciences eastern and central Africa Hub (BecA) Hub and Australia’s national science agency, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), with funding from AusAID.
