Dr Rick Brandenburg is an entomologist and pest management specialist with over 30 years of international collaborative experience including Southeast Asia, South America, Latin America, and Africa.   His expertise in agricultural cropping systems focuses on plant health and creating sustainable, cost effective and environmentally friendly crop production systems.  His efforts in plant health and pest management also link directly with reducing in-field aflatoxin contamination in subsistence and commercial agriculture. 

Brandenburg is currently the Principal Investigator on a USAID funded Peanut and Mycotoxin Innovation Lab project in Malawi, Zambia, and Mozambique and is a collaborator on a similar project in Ghana where he has worked for 20 years.  Dr Brandenburg’s past and current research has investigate the interactions of both biotic and abiotic stresses and the development of strategies that result in higher yields and increased profits.
