Leah Ndungu performs the lead coordinating role for the projects in the partnership between the BecA-ILRI Hub and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Australia. She has over 10 years’ experience in managing projects, people and research relations. Under the BecA-CSIRO partnership, Leah is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with research partners, facilitates project team internal communications and manages the day to day interactions with partners as well as information flows. She plays a key role in monitoring the project milestones, including planning, review, evaluation and coordination of formal reporting of the projects under the partnership.
Before joining the BecA Hub, Leah was ILRI’s Research Management Officer where she was responsible for overall coordination of ILRI’s research management. This involved planning, monitoring and evaluation of ILRI’s research programme, management of performance, and development and coordination of institutional reports. Previous experience included laboratory based research and implementation of multi-partner and multi-country research projects.
Leah holds a PhD in Veterinary Science with a specialisation in Agricultural Economics from University of Pretoria, South Africa, a Masters in Veterinary Sciences, from Washington State University, USA, and Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine from University of Nairobi, Kenya.
