Dear Colleagues, As BecA looks towards the future to increase our impact on development through cutting edge bioscience research, technology and capacity building, we understand the importance of having a strategy that best serves Africa, our people, our institutions and the bioscience research community. Currently we are in the process of creating a strategic business plan to guide our success and growth over the next five years, and we value your input as an important partners of the BecA-ILRI Hub. Our goal is to continue to: • Harness cutting edge research to increase the productivity and sustainability of agricultural systems in Africa • Build bioscience capacity of Africans and significantly contribute to the global scientific knowledge pool • Better serve institutions and the bioscience research community We have partnered with Accenture, a global management consulting firm, to create this strategic business plan to help us achieve these goals. We would like to capture your perspective of the Hub, our facilities, our services (advisement support, capacity building and technician support), core competencies and future capabilities. A link to an online survey will soon be posted to gather your input and feedback on BecA and our future. The survey will be completely anonymous to get your honest feedback and only the aggregate results will be presented. Our goal is to complete this initial feedback phase by the Monday, 30 August 2010. Again, we appreciate your input, and we want to stress its importance to BecA’s success and ability to impact Africa’s development.
