Cathie Aime, Assistant Professor of Plant Pathology, conducts basic systematics research on fungi and teaches mycology and forest pathology.  Her specializations are on rust fungi, the largest group of plant pathogens with over 7000 species; fungi that cause disease of cacao (Theobroma cacao) and other tropical tree crops; and tropical basidiomycetes including smuts, yeasts, and mushrooms.
