He served as Center Manger for two years at Sinana Agricultural Research Center (SARC) and worked as Crop Breeder/Geneticist on small cereals and legumes for more than four years. He also served as counterpart and member in a multidisciplinary expatriate research team that studied the effect of cereal monocropping in the Southeastern highlands of Currently, Dr. Tesfaye has several responsibilities: handling undergraduate and postgraduate courses in area of genetics and molecular biology at AAU; supervising postgraduate students in the field of genetics; helping to establish the first Biosphere Reserve for coffee genetic resources at Yayu wild coffee region in southwestern Curriculum Vitae
