Fredrick Munga Ng'ang'a

Fredrick Ng’ang’a is a research associate - analytical chemist at the BecA-ILRI Hub mycology and nutrition platform.At the BecA-ILRI Hub, he offers technical support to visiting and hosted scientist in the screening and quantification of various mycotoxins in food and feed stuff through ELISA, fluorometry and Liquid chromatography-Mass Spectrometry in addition to profiling of various bio-active ingredients in food.
He previously worked as research technologist at the Coffee Research Instituteunder the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) where he was involved in instrumental analysis of biochemical compounds in coffee and pesticides formulations. Ng'ang'a had a previous appointment at the BecA-ILRI Hub for a year between June 2014- July 2015. He has worked as a volunteer teacher, part time chemistry lecturer at Maasai Mara University, Jomo Kenyatta University of agriculture and as mass spectrometry trainer. His interests are in the application of metabolomics in plant related sciences.
Fredrick holds a BSc degree in Chemistry and MSc Chemistry degree from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).
